1930s Bureau

Here is an example of a heirloom piece 1930’s Bureau that we gave a new lease on life.
A young girl inherited this from her grandmother, it was special to her because her grandfather built it for his wife as a wedding gift back in 1930’s.
After her grandmother passed, it spent many years sitting in storage until she came across Creampot Furnishings on line.

“This very special project was truly a labour of love. We both poured our hearts into every step of the process, spending hours and weeks transforming this gorgeous 1930s bureau into something truly special. It was quite the journey, but we are both so pleased with the end result.

First things first, our client wanted the whole outside and the inside transformed into a mini drinks bar. We added mirrors and art deco frosting to the mirrors. We carried this design throughout the whole piece by emulating it in the painting and the accessories, and funky hanging brass glass stores were added. The whole unit received a satin varnish to give it that polished look. I tell you, seeing the transformation unfold before our eyes was nothing short of magical, and we’d do it all again in a heartbeat.”
