Ceramic Tile Design Blanket Box
This blanket box came to me as a plain old pine blanket box with candle drawer. I wanted to create something totally unique and different. The blanket box was prepped and sanded to receive its new Fusion Mineral paint colours. I used a selection of 4 different blues to create an aged look. I then added a layer of paint and salt wash to certain areas to create a raised texture.
The beautiful images on the top were added to give the impression of tiles. I then added a crackle and glaze effect to add more texture and depth to the piece. Lastly I added copper patina and then finished with the patina spray to create a rustic finish.
The blanket box has been varnished for extra durability.
