This was definitely a labour of L❤️VE. This beautiful solid Oak sideboard was covered in thick white paint and white wax, it was awful to the eye and to touch, it was sticky! Even the hinges were painted white and waxed. So we spent hours stripping it all back to reveal this beautiful wood grain. The designs on the sides are based on the Great Blue Herons Midnight Orient #avalanadesign.
Paint used, was Coal Black, Ash, Soapstone and the gorgeous Damask from Fusion Mineral Paint on the inside. The natural wood was finished off with several layers of Osmo oil. Before adding the beautiful handles I added a 3D damask pattern using 3D fibre paste just adding another dimension. All the painted areas were finished with a satin varnish for extra durability.
